The Albany County Arts & Culture Grant Program, administered by the Advance Albany County Alliance, supports projects that contribute to the artistic, cultural, and economic vitality of Albany County.
The program supports arts and cultural organizations and community-based initiatives that demonstrate meaningful impact and provide opportunities for Albany County residents to engage with the arts and culture.
2026 Grant Funding Opportunity
The Advance Albany County Alliance is now accepting applications for the 2026 Albany County Arts & Culture Grant Program.
Due to a significantly reduced funding allocation for 2026, the Advisory Council is prioritizing projects that demonstrate strong community impact relative to the amount requested. The program is intended to preserve access to funding for smaller organizations and community-based arts and cultural initiatives while supporting projects that contribute meaningfully to Albany County’s cultural landscape.

Who Can Apply?
Eligible applicants must be based in Albany County and may include:
- Nonprofit arts and cultural organizations
- Museums, theaters, galleries, and cultural institutions
- Community-based arts organizations
- Artist collectives with fiscal sponsorship
- Other organizations whose projects directly contribute to Albany County’s artistic and cultural landscape
Eligible Projects
Grants are available for a wide range of artistic and cultural initiatives, including but not limited to:
- Public art installations
- Cultural festivals and community events
- Educational arts workshops and programs
- Artist residencies and fellowships
- Historical and cultural preservation projects
Funding
Approximately $150,000 is anticipated to be available for the 2026 funding round, subject to final county budget authorization.
Applicants may be awarded between $2,500 and $15,000. The Advisory Council reserves the right to award partial funding, adjust award amounts, or decline funding requests based on available resources and program priorities.

Applicants should review the 2026 Request for Proposals for complete eligibility requirements, application guidelines, and reporting requirements.

Applicants will receive an email confirmation upon receipt of their application.
Reporting Requirements
All grant recipients will be required to enter into a funding agreement with the Advance Albany County Alliance.
Recipients will be required to submit an interim progress report during the project period and a final report within 30 days of project completion.
Reports will include information regarding project activities, progress toward goals, community impact, use of grant funds, attendance or participation, and any significant changes or challenges affecting the project.
Failure to comply with reporting requirements may impact eligibility for future funding opportunities.
Acknowledgment & Grant-Supported Events
Grant recipients are expected to acknowledge support from the Albany County Arts & Culture Grant Program in appropriate promotional materials.
For public events, performances, exhibitions, or programs supported through grant funding, recipients are also expected to extend an invitation to members of the Arts & Culture Advisory Council and/or the Albany County Executive’s Office.
