Port of Coeymans Truck Study

Advance Albany County Alliance is leading the Port of Coeymans Truck Study to evaluate potential alternative truck routes between the Amrize Quarry and the Port of Coeymans. The study is focused on identifying feasible options to reduce heavy truck traffic along Main Street (NY Route 143) in Ravena and Coeymans while assessing potential impacts on traffic operations, safety, the environment, and surrounding neighborhoods.

As part of the public engagement process, the Alliance will host a community Open House on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at Pieter B. Coeymans Elementary School. Residents, business owners, and stakeholders are encouraged to attend the drop-in session to learn more about the study, ask questions, and provide feedback that will help inform future recommendations and potential infrastructure improvements.

106 South Pearl Street

Advance Albany County Alliance is leading the redevelopment of the former McDonald’s property at 106 South Pearl Street into a new intercity bus terminal and gateway for Albany’s South End.

Identified as a priority through recent downtown planning and community engagement efforts, the project aims to transform the long-vacant site into a modern transportation hub serving regional bus carriers and CDTA while incorporating neighborhood-serving retail, public space, and enhanced streetscape connections. The project is intended to improve the travel experience, support economic activity, and create a welcoming entry point into the city and surrounding neighborhood.

Central Warehouse

The Central Warehouse project marks a major step in removing a longstanding blight on Albany’s skyline. In January 2025, the Alliance officially acquired the 11-story former cold storage facility at 143 Montgomery Street — a property that had sat vacant and deteriorating for decades, creating safety and economic challenges.

Following a competitive bid process and legal affirmation of our selection process, demolition planning is underway with contracted partners Gramercy Group, Inc. and LiRo-Hill. Supported by New York State Restore NY funding and local investment, the demolition will eliminate this symbol of urban blight and create a clean, investment-ready site for future development in North Albany. The project underscores our commitment to addressing safety, stimulating investment, and catalyzing economic activity in key areas of the county.

Reimagine Saint Rose

Reimagine Saint Rose is a comprehensive redevelopment initiative led by the Albany County Pine Hills Land Authority to transform the former College of Saint Rose campus into a vibrant, mixed-use neighborhood asset in the heart of Albany’s Pine Hills community. Centered on long-term community benefit, the project seeks to reimagine the 26.5-acre campus through a coordinated approach that supports housing, education, arts and cultural programming, and economic development opportunities.

Working with public and private partners, the initiative emphasizes adaptive reuse of existing buildings, strategic reinvestment in key campus assets, and the creation of new uses that reconnect the site to surrounding neighborhoods. Through ongoing planning and engagement, Reimagine Saint Rose is focused on turning a legacy institutional campus into an active, accessible, and sustainable district that reflects community priorities and strengthens the local economy.
