Jeremy Smith joined the Advance Albany County Alliance in March of 2026 as the Senior Vice President of Real Estate. Jeremy is a native of Albany County, being born and raised in the City of Watervliet.
Prior to joining the Alliance, Jeremy served as the Director of Facilities at CDTA after having served the City of Watervliet as General Manager. As General Manager, Jeremy oversaw the day-to-day operations of the city and acted as the Chief Administrative Officer. The position also held the titles of Commissioner of Public Safety and Commissioner of Public Works.
As the Director of Facilities at CDTA, Jeremy was responsible for all facility operations as well as all street amenities including bus stops, shelters, park & ride facilities, and all Capital Construction projects. Jeremy oversaw all property and Real Estate at CDTA including purchase, sales and Asset Management. He directed planning, design, construction, and maintenance of all physical infrastructure in buildings and on the street for CDTA.
Jeremy’s years in the public sector as an administrator and leader allow him to bring a wide range of skills including planning, development, real estate, construction and municipal management that will surely provide a positive future for the Alliance and the people of Albany County.
Jeremy comes from a family of Small Business Owners, including his grandfather and father who owned and operated Selby & Smith Sheet Metal for several decades, and his two brothers who own their own small businesses.
Jeremy received his Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Marist College and currently lives in East Greenbush with his wife, Brooke.
