Albany, N.Y.The Advance Albany County Alliance is inviting residents, businesses, commuters, and stakeholders to help shape the future of 106 South Pearl Street by participating in a community survey for the proposed Albany Intercity Transit Center.
Located at a key gateway into the City of Albany, the project seeks to transform the former South End Grocery property into a modern, high-performance transportation hub that improves the passenger experience, strengthens regional connectivity, and supports continued investment in Albany’s South End.
Following a public workshop held on June 16, community members provided valuable feedback on the project and identified important priorities related to transportation, safety, neighborhood character, economic opportunity, and quality of life. The survey provides an additional opportunity for residents and stakeholders to share their perspectives and help inform future planning efforts.
The proposed facility would serve intercity bus carriers, including Greyhound, Trailways, and Peter Pan, while providing enhanced passenger amenities, improved security, and opportunities for complementary retail and commercial activity. The project is also being explored as part of Governor Kathy Hochul’s historic $200 million Championing Albany’s Potential initiative, representing a once-in-a-generation opportunity to invest in a site that serves as a welcoming front door to the City of Albany.
Community input will play an important role as planning and design efforts continue. The Alliance is committed to a transparent, community-driven process and encourages all interested stakeholders to participate.
