Michael Cassidy is a partner at Brown & Weinraub, a leading government relations and management consulting ?rm. Prior to joining the ?rm, he served as Assistant Director of State Operations under Governor Andrew Cuomo, overseeing New York State’s $135 billion budget and 130,000 employees. In this role, he coordinated policy, managed public ?nance, and was a senior member of the Hurricane Sandy Recovery & Mitigation Working Group.
Michael’s career includes leadership roles as Legislative Director for the New York State Senate’s Committee on Investigations, Taxation & Government Operations, and staff liaison to the MTA Capital Program Review Board. He began his public service in the New York State Assembly.
In addition to his professional work, Michael is committed to public service through his roles as Commissioner of the City of Albany Civil Service Commission, trustee of Maria College, and member of the Rockefeller College Advisory Board, among others.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Public Administration from the University at Albany’s Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy. He has been recognized by City & State and the Irish Echo as a “40 Under 40 Rising Star” and a “Gov Tech Power 50” honoree.
